About DIC Spirulina
ー We support the resolution of social issues such as poverty and hunger, and the realization of a healthy lifestyle.
An international organization’s comments to the DIC Group that Spirulina could be provided to children as a source of iron and protein prompted the DIC Group to donate products made with DIC Spirulina to children affected by the Chernobyl disaster and refugee children from Croatia suffering from malnutrition. We have also provided Spirulina products and production technology free of charge to Zambia, with the additional aim of supporting their industrial development. We will continue to support the eradication of poverty and starvation so that more people can lead healthy lives.ー We manage natural resources and work to reduce environmental burden.
We are the only company in the industry who achieved zero water emission from the factory.(California Farm, USA) 50% renewable green electricity from a mix of geothermal, wind, photovoltaic, and solar power.(Farm in California, USA: using electricity from IID)Reduce water consumption and provide safe drinking water to neighboring communities. We have maintained stable production of Spirulina for over 40 years since becoming the first organization in the world to successfully establish technology for outdoor mass-production of Spirulina. The DIC Group consumes 1530 tons of CO2 a year* through the production of Spirulina. We are helping to protect the planet by ensuring sustainable consumption and production as well as management of natural resources by, for example, recycling water used in production, achieving zero wastewater at our U.S. farm and using byproducts as raw materials for other industrial materials.
