For Professional For Aquaculture Feed / Microalgae-Based Feed UltraNanno™

UltraNanno™

Contributes to the stable production of juvenile fish by supplying high-quality, sustainable rotifer feed throughout the year.

UltraNanno™ is a sustainable plant-based feed for aquaculture to address future protein shortages.
It uses a closed algae culture system with renewable energy sources to provide feedstock with uniform and high active ingredient content throughout the year.
By supplying this feed, we contribute to the stable production of farmed fish.

Features of UltraNanno™

  • It has already been sold as feed for rotifers in Europe.
  • It has little contamination and maintains high quality even at high temperatures in summer.
  • EPA content is 6%, the highest level in the industry.
  • Compared to other companies' Nanno, it shows a high rotifer propagation rate.
  • DHA enhancer "UltraNanno+" is also available.

The EPA content is about 6%, the highest level in the industry

It has a high omega-3 content, and the omega-3 content of rotifers after feeding is double that of fortified chlorella.

    UltraNanno™ Production Locations

The production site is located in Iceland. It is an environmentally friendly and sustainable product cultured in glacial meltwater using low-cost, clean electricity, CO2, and hot water supplied from the adjacent geothermal power plant.

    UltraNanno™生産場所
Closed culture in a photobioreactor using LEDs with a low contamination risk can produce clean nannochloropsis year-round.

    What is Nannochloropsis?

  • Juvenile marine fish such as sea bream and flounder, hatched from eggs at aquaculture farms, grow by eating rotifers, a type of zooplankton, for about 3 to 20 days after hatching.
  • Algae feed, a type of phytoplankton, is used to feed rotifers. Among them, Nannochloropsis, an ocean-distributed algae, has excellent nutritional value and is expected to increase the vitality of rotifers.
  • There are two ways to use it as bait: adding it to the rotifer culture tank or adding it directly to the fry tank. When added to fry tanks, the green color of the seawater makes it difficult for the fry to see each other, reducing their stress and improving water quality.
  • Therefore, by supplying stable and high-quality nannochloropsis, it is possible to contribute to the stable production of fry.
